Update Thursday #62

Welcome to Update Thursday, my own personal meme of sorts where I post an update of the goings on at my blog, with reading, with writing, and beyond. Feel free to borrow the idea from me for your own bookish musings.

Writing...

~ If Only We ~ 22,519 ~
~ Before We Knew ~ 11, 449 ~
~ Whatever This Is ~ outlining ~

You guys..... I have spent the last week WRITING like never before. And guess what? I hit a milestone on my word count for If Only We. And that milestone is... THE 20,000 WORD MARK!!! That's right, the new word count is at 22,519. I am oh so excited. Crossing my fingers for 25,000 at least by next week!

While I'm driving, I always listen to music. This week I've had Flyleaf's self-titled in my CD player. It's a great album... but it triggers ideas for Whatever This Is... and distracts me from If Only We! I just need to find some songs that inspire my current WIP.

Otherwise...

Okay, I am really, really, really, really excited for the book For Darkness Shows The Stars by Diana Peterfreund. That cover alone is giving me chills. I just entered several giveaways that included this lovely book... so I'm crossing my fingers that I win, since I really shouldn't be buying any books at the moment. If next weeks hits and I find out I haven't won, I may splurge and get it. But... I'm *trying* to be good. Even though... LOOK AT THAT COVER. Click on it to see it larger. SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!

Still in the process of looking for a job. I was hoping to be able to last Friday but the weather got in the way. I'll be heading out tomorrow since I have the whole day off. Only working 2 days a week should be good incentive to get things done, yet somehow I find myself staying up late and sleeping in and online longer than I would like to be. I did get a lot of writing done, so I can't complain there. I just need to buckle down and prioritize. We all go through those moments, right?

Until next time...

  2. CONGRATULATIONS!!! *yes, I yelled that, that's how excited I am for you* What an accomplishment, way to go! I hope you're able to keep up the momentum. I didn't do an Update Thursday this week because of Armchair BEA (btw, in yesterday's post we were supposed to talk about connecting with bloggers, and I said there were two bloggers I was going to make it my life's mission to meet, and they were you and Molli <3), but I did fairly well with my writing, especially last Fri-Sun. I was writing a bit yesterday and it hit me that I'm almost finished...it's kind of scary! But exciting too, of course. I have the next three days off, so I'm hoping I can get over my procrastination and current ADD tendencies, and sit down and FINISH IT.
For Darkness Shows the Star is ridiculously beautiful. I remember the first time I saw the cover I just stared and stared. I entered a few giveaways for it too...I hope we both win! xo
