I wasn't really that bad. I had a gift certificate for Barnes & Noble, so some of the above was purchased with that. As far as October goes, I'll probably be much better. I need to go on a partial book buying ban while I get caught up on my current list of books. There's one book I MUST get my hands on, but otherwise, I have nothing else I'm super anxious about.

That was my awesome month of bookish goodness. How about you? Did you get anything good this week/month?

  3. Lots of books this week. On Dublin Street was very good, but emotional at times. Under The Never Sky was fantastic. Great haul of books.

  7. TWO books by Marie Landry?! ;-) Have I told you lately that I love you? <3
I'm so excited you got Under the Never Sky! If you hadn't got it by Christmas, I was going to get it for you, because you NEED to read it. Veronica Rossi has a novella coming out at the end of this month about Roar and Liv, so if you read UTNS and love it, you'll be in time to get the novella. And I'm excited you got Scarlet, too! I splurged on it last month but still need to read it (and I'll probably be saying that a month from now...you know me). Awesome haul, I hope you enjoy them all! :-)

    1. Why not? I mean, I love your writing and need to get my hands on them as soon as I can! I think you may have, but it's always nice to hear! Love you too!!! <3

Oooh! Must check out novella when I read it. ;) Maybe we should read Scarlet together... then we'll actually both make sure we read it instead of letting it sit on the shelf. I really need to focus more on my YA books, I've been slackin'. I know I need to take care of my Classics Challenge (the only other one I'm actually going to finish this year, forget the TBR challenge, I give up, lol), but there are so many YA's that I've been dying to read, so I NEED to. :P

    2. hehe <3
We should totally read Scarlet together! We could have our own little mini read-a-long thing and discuss it lol. Yes! I'm sucking at your Classics Challenge - I've only read one book so far. Still hoping to finish though, god knows I have a list a mile long and I own a ton of classics. There are so many fantastic YAs - we should start a reading accountability group or something...like a support group for people like us lol

    3. YES! Definitely. Let me know when you're ready to read it and I'll put it next in line. Hey, reading one classic a year is still better than most people do! I think I may just make an effort to read at least 2-4 a year from now on. Reading accountability--oh, that would be a great idea. I think that's what the TBR challenge was supposed to be for me... then I bought too many books! LOL! :P

    4. haha, yeah I was hoping the challenges would be like that for me too - I signed up for like 15 - but I've sucked at keeping track of them, so next year I'm going to either sign up for less (unlikely, knowing me), or do better at keeping track. I keep thinking I'd like to host my own, or see if you'd like to do something together. I'm *hoping* to get Pride and Prejudice read, and maybe The Secret Garden or The Little Princess...OR it could be a good reason for me to splurge on The Princess Bride...as if I need more books lol.
How is your immediate reading pile looking? Do you have any idea when you want to start Scarlet? Should we just randomly select a date and go with it?

    5. I was thinking about redoing the Classics Challenge and keep it going on here, but this time it will include re-reads. Plus, I'm going to have a quarterly link-up for reviews and maybe do a giveaway at the end of the year. I could co-host one with you for sure! Just let me know what kind of challenge idea you were thinking of. I'd say go with Pride and Prejudice, even though The Princess Bride is worth it. :)

I've got a few in line right now... Maybe we could start it November 1st? That way I can get a bit ahead... if that works for you. ;)

    6. I definitely think you should keep going with the Classics Challenge. I'll participate for sure, and allowing re-reads is a great idea - that way I can include Anne of Avonlea (which I probably won't get to this year, but definitely want to re-read so I can carry on with the series). I've been thinking of doing a male POV challenge since there are so many great male POV books out there now...either completely male POV or dual POV. Does that sound like something you might like to do?

November 1st works for me. I have a couple of review books and library books to get through, so that's actually perfect. :-) <3

    7. Yes! I want to reread Anne Of Green Gables at least next year, if not Anne Of Avonlea too. I need to finish the whole series and can't do it unless I refresh my memory on all the little details. OH! I so love the idea of a male POV/dual POV challenge. I should go through my TBR books and figure out which ones I've been wanting to read. I would probably only be able to read 2 or 3 of them (depending on how many I find). So... yes to that! I'm in!

Cool beans! I'll make sure I'm ready to go on that day for it. :)

    8. That was actually why I reread Anne of Green Gables this summer, I wanted a refresher before carrying on with the series...and here I am months later, with the books staring at me angrily from my shelf lol.
YAY! I'm going to make a list of the ones I've read and want to read - we could compile one together to give people suggestions, you know? We can talk more about it through email and get the details sorted out. People will probably start posting sign-ups soon...I've actually already seen and signed up for one!

    9. Awesome! I will get to work on a list of male POV/dual POV books to include and try to email it to you by the end of the weekend or early next week. I can also come up with other ideas for the logo thingie and levels and a giveaway (if you want to do a giveaway along with it). We should try to get it going ASAP. ;)

      Delete
    10. Yes! I was trying to think of levels and the only one I came up with was 'Boy Crazy' lol. In a few hours I'll be free for three whole days (well, free from Logan, but not work in general...still, FREE FROM LOGAN lol), so I'll finally have a bit of time to do stuff and I'll get my list together too. And yes, I think a giveaway would be great, and by splitting the cost it wouldn't be bad at all!

    11. Boy Crazy would work! Hmm... maybe the first one could be something like "Just A Crush", then maybe something like "Let's Date", then "Boy Crazy". :P

I actually went through a bunch of my books and marked a bunch of them that include boys:

      Male POV: http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/3007606-jessica?format=html&shelf=male-pov
      Dual POV: http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/3007606-jessica?format=html&shelf=dual-pov
      Multiple POV: http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/3007606-jessica?format=html&shelf=multiple-pov

I only included the ones that include boys on the Dual/Multiple. Maybe we could compile all of them into a Listopia list? There are a few already...

      2: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/23861.Romance_Books_Male_POV
      3: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/9816.Books_Told_From_The_Male_Point_of_View

      5: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/17855.YA_Male_POV_2012

Well, it's a start anyways! And yes, we can split the giveaway in two. :)
