Scarlet Read-Along: What do you love about Robin Hood?

Welcome to the Scarlet Read-Along!

Marie at Ramblings of a Daydreamer and I are proud to present this read-along event to you.

Today we are going to talk about what we love about Robin Hood. I mean, there had to be something you love about it to draw you to Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen. Please link up your post in the comments below so I can read and learn what you love about Robin Hood too!

What do you love about Robin Hood?

Inside of me is an enormous sense of justice. Although the whole idea of Robin Hood and his merry men is stemmed from stealing from the rich to give to the poor, which is wrong, the greater injustice is the evil that the rich does to the poor. So I am drawn to the idea of the good that is done by them, regardless of the fact that it is illegal. It's a corrupt system they live in and there really isn't another way.

Plus, there's something romantic about the time period. ^_^ And you know how much I adore a good love story.

  1. That's a great reason - the cruelty to the poor is so immense that, even though the characters are thieves, their actions seem completely justifiable.

  2. Agreed! They may be doing something wrong, but they're doing it for the right reasons...nobody else is looking out for the 'little guy' and justice has to be served somehow.
