Before Kai joined the Cloud Fleet, he wandered… AMONG THE NAMELESS STARS

Four years before the events of FOR DARKNESS SHOWS THE STARS, the servant Kai left the North Estate, the only home he’d ever known, and Elliot North, the only girl he ever loved, in search of a better life. But the journey was not an easy one.

Featuring narrow escapes, thrilling boat races and at least one deadly volcanic wasteland.

My Thoughts:

You all know how much I adored For Darkness Shows The Stars, and the book it was inspired by, Jane Austen’s Persuasion. When I learned of this novella from Kai’s perspective, it was a must must must read for me. I adored Kai. I adored him to pieces. So being able to read his side of the story was the best thing ever.

It was very interesting to see how things happened once Kai left the North Estate and Elliot. He had a rough time of it for awhile. The world he lived in was just horrible. I wanted to reach out and smack people for their attitudes, but that was life for them as Post Reductionists. I kept falling for Kai when he couldn’t stop writing letters he would never send to Elliot. It’s amazing how he survived to be able to meet back up with her in FDSTS.

If you read For Darkness Shows The Stars and loved it, then you need to read Among The Nameless Stars. Diana Peterfreund does not disappoint in telling this little story. You will love Kai all the more so than you already did. So go get a copy and start reading!
