The Latest With Me

Well, at least I FINALLY finished ONE book, right? I'm still working on way too many projects at once. I have been brainstorming and working on reviews AND new posts. And hopefully also my writing. I am crossing my fingers that next week will have more to report. I think May will be the month for me to get everything back together. I've just allowed myself to get so distracted as of late. All for good reason. ^_^

Hope you had a great weekend!!!

The Latest With Me

It is really taking a long time to get back on track. I've actually come to some realizations about my priorities and responsibilities as of late. I'll have to write out a post and share that with you guys soon. In any case, I'm going to be REALLY plugging away at things this coming week and will hopefully begin to get caught up on my Goodreads reading challenge. So far behind, I'm afraid to see how many books behind, lol.

Hope you have a great weekend!!!

One week late, but I don't care.

I did well last month, mostly due to my move, hahaha! The sad thing is, Blaze expired already, so I am not going to be able to enjoy that one anymore. Oh well! :P

That was my awesome month of bookish goodness. How about you? Did you get anything good this week/month?

Waiting For The Storm by Marie Landry is NOW Available!!!

You heard right! Waiting For The Storm by Marie Landry is available to the world. I had the privilege of beta reading this novel and let me tell you, it is AMAZING. Absolutely wonderful story that has you sucked in from the start. I still need to write my review, there's so much to say about it. But seriously, the bottom line of my review will be this: you MUST get your hands on this book and read it ASAP! Here's the synopsis:

Charlotte O’Dell knows this summer is going to suck. Her beloved mother just died, her sister hates her, and her dad has completely checked out. Fulfilling her mother’s final wish, the family heads to Angel Island for the summer to stay in a beach house her mother once loved.

After a year of being shut away taking care of her mother, Charlotte is numb and practically afraid of her own shadow; she hopes going to the island will give her the time and space she needs to begin healing, and an opportunity to bring her family back together. When she meets her mysterious neighbor, Ezra, it doesn’t take long for Charlotte to confess the issues she’s developed. Ezra begins giving Charlotte assignments to get over her fears, and although she accepts his tasks, all she really wants is to be with him. When she’s with Ezra, she’s able to forget the hollow ache in her heart and the fact that her family is falling apart. But Ezra has secrets…

Can Charlotte pull what’s left of her family together, mend her broken heart, and allow herself to fall for Ezra? Or is it all just a storm waiting to happen?

The Latest With Me

Still trying to get back on track since the move. I have a lot of my stuff unpacked and out, it's just a matter of organizing more of the little things and papers and straightening stuff piled on and in front of shelves. I'm hoping to actually have SOMETHING to report by next week actually.

I spent most of the week preparing for co-hosting a My Little Pony Meet that happened yesterday. It was a lot of fun, although preparation was a killer and took up a lot of my free time. I managed to actually get a lot of things done earlier today, and I just made a batch of peanut butter cookies. I would have made brownies but I realized I didn't have any cooking spray for the dish, lol. Oh well, I'll add it to the list!

Hope you had a great weekend!!!

Review: Casey Barnes Eponymous by E.A. Rigg

Title: Casey Barnes Eponymous
Author: E.A. Rigg
Published: January 1st 2012
Source: Won
Genre: Young Adult
Buy: Amazon ~*~ Barnes & Noble
Add to your Goodreads shelf
Caution: May contain spoilers
It's three weeks into the school year when music junkie Casey Barnes gets a second chance with her mysterious, heartbreaking ex-boyfriend. She comes up with a plan to win him back, but it soon spins out of control as rivalries, revelations about him, and music itself all start to collide. For Casey the newfound attention means learning the difference between wanting center stage and actually being on it.

~synopsis from Goodreads
My Thoughts:

It took me a year to finally get to this one after winning it in a giveaway. I’ve been wanting to get to it since the story interested me because of my love of music.

In the beginning, I’m not sure how to think about Casey. She is bizarre in her train of thought and manner of speaking. The way she interacts with people makes it hard to understand where she stands. She was really funny, although quite irritating at the same time. It was hard to follow her thinking since she bounces around in her thoughts and feelings often. But, this is her personality after all, so there’s nothing wrong with that. It was just hard to keep up with as a reader sometimes.

I thought the music references and her playlists were pretty cool. I’ll have to go back through and jot down some of the song titles to look them up sometime. Otherwise, there’s not too much else to say. The side stories were a little off the wall, and a few of the things Casey did were thoroughly confusing. The romantic element to the story was all over. I had no idea what to expect in the end.

Casey Barnes Eponymous was a crazy novel. I’m not even sure what the central plot was supposed to be in the end. I thought E.A. Rigg did a great job when it came to the humor and music. The possibility of confusion aside, it is a pretty good read.

My Rating:
