There was once a lady who loathed a lord...

Lady Aurelia hasn't always hated Max, Viscount Camden, her brother's best friend. In fact, as a besotted girl, she thrived under his kind attention – sure that he was the most noble and handsome man in the land. Until her young heart discovered what manner of rogue he really was. Now, though she enjoys nothing more than getting on his last nerve, she can’t deny Max drives her to distraction—even if she tries to pretend otherwise.

...and a lord who was confounded by a lady.

Max cannot recall a time when Aurelia did not vex him. If she was not his friend’s sister, he would stay far away from the infuriating vixen. Unfortunately, they are always thrown together. At parties and family gatherings…she is always there. Infuriating him, tossing punch in his face, driving him mad...until one night, she goes too far and he retaliates in the only way he can: with a kiss that changes everything.

My Thoughts:

It's been awhile since I've read a historical romance... I went through a phase where I read several within months, then kinda stepped away from them. This one by Sophie Jordan is the first one I've read all year. All I can say is what an amazing book to get me back into reading historical romance!

There's something seriously addicting about stories where enemies become lovers. They're at each other with insults and the banter is so hysterical, you're giggling like a maniac. Aurelia and Max are that pairing with a deep seated loathing that stems back to when they were younger. One of the conversations that ensued at one point had me laughing so hard, it took me a minute to get back to reading the book...

"Not so cockless. Am I?" he queried lightly.

"You've proven yourself well enough," she replied evenly, the color in her face becoming less red and more pink.

"Do well to remember it in your spinster bed tonight," he flung out. "Or perhaps someday you'll wed and have but a puny rod to take between your thighs. You'll think of me often then, will you not?"

*snorts* They meet again as they get older and the insults continue until the hate culminates into passion. They kiss in the heat of the moment, which leads them down a path where they can't go back. There's only one question that remains: Can Aurelia and Max accept their fate?

All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue is a charming love story between former enemies. Both Aurelia and Max are impressive characters. I fell for them both together and separately. Strong-willed, determined, passionate, sweet, stubborn, amusing--they had it all. I loved every single minute of this book! And now I'm super excited to get caught up on the previous books in The Debutante Files series.

A new adult romance from Entangled's Embrace imprint...

No kissing. No touching. And definitely no falling in love...

Armed with her besties, an embarrassing number of shots, and her list of 10 Wild Things To Do Before Adulthood, recent grad Cameron Lawson is partying it up before she starts her dream job at New York's biggest ad agency. Her last task? Hook up with a random guy. And while it's so not her style, the super-sexy guy sitting next to her is definitely game. No names. No details.

At least, that was the plan.

On her first day of work, Cameron discovers her hook-up is none other than Aidan Truitt-her new boss's boss. Talk about failing the "no fraternizing with coworkers" policy on an epic level. Especially when Aidan makes it clear their one night was only the beginning. Falling for him could cost her everything, but sometimes the only way to get what you want is by breaking a few rules...

My Thoughts:

After I read the synopsis of this story, I knew I had to read it. Stories about two people hooking up and then meeting up again in a new environment, especially the whole boss/employee situation, are hilarious. There's something about the forbidden romance of it that keeps you wondering. Cameron and Aidan had an impressive chemistry right off the bat. When they woke up the next morning and went their separate ways, they had no idea they'd meet again, and that he'd end up being her new boss. They thought they could leave their one night behind them, but working together is bringing them closer together, and their chemistry is off the charts. The idea that they could try to fight it is nearly impossible. Due to a strict policy at work, if they get caught it would leave them both with very bad consequences. Is their romance worth the risk?

No Kissing Allowed is charmingly sweet and romantic. You're anxiously awaiting the possibility of them getting caught, but you're enjoying the ride as they try to figure out what they mean to each other. I loved that! It's honestly impossible not to adore the way Aidan and Cameron are together--they just leap off the page in the best way possible. I can't wait to see what other lovely stories Melissa West has in store.

Never in your wildest dreams could you begin to imagine all the filthy and depraved things that go on inside The Wicked Horse. Step inside and Woolf Jennings will make every one of your dirty fantasies come true.

He’s covered in a facade of deception. An enticing blend of multi-millionaire and hot-as-hell Wyoming rancher, those that think they know Woolf Jennings admire his abilities to preside as CEO of his family’s cattle and oil empire. But only a privileged few truly understand what fuels the glitter of depravity in those gorgeous blue eyes. Only a few know he’s opened up a sinfully erotic and private sex club named The Wicked Horse right at the base of the beautiful Teton Mountain range.

Sweet Callie Hayes has returned home to Wyoming and is looking forward to starting her life over again. After a night of impetuosity, she’s managed to put herself right in Woolf’s line of sight… the man who she foolishly offered up her virginity to years ago and was flatly turned down.

Now Woolf is seeing that Callie is all grown up and has a kinky side to her that leaves him as confused as it does turned on. Worse yet, both Callie’s dirty desires and sweet heart are getting under his skin, and making Woolf question everything he’s ever believed about himself.

My Thoughts:

When I finished reading this book, my first thought was about how freaking sexy it was! I was well aware upon starting it that it would be extremely sexy, but I had no idea the magnitude. And let me tell you, if it was a scale of 1-10, we'd be in 11+ territory here.

When Woolf and Callie meet up again, there's an instant reaction they both feel. They felt something years ago, but when he was attempting to be the good guy, they ended up going their separate ways. Woolf hires Callie to work for him, and being in the close quarters doesn't help their attraction. It leads them to a hot and heavy kiss. Then Callie finds out about the sex club and Woolf thinks that it's all over... only to discover that Callie is extremely curious about this other side of him. He doesn't want to spoil her innocence, but she's more determined to learn more. Once they cross over into that territory, what will it mean for them?

Wicked Fall is quite simply one of the sexiest books I've read! Woolf is, by far, one of those book boyfriends that stays with you. And Callie is someone I can relate to--strong despite facing some pretty crazy things and wanting to be different and take chances. I loved where the story took us: no holding back, no tiptoeing, no beating around the bush. It was not only sexy, but it was super sweet. Can't wait for the next book in The Wicked Horse series by Sawyer Bennett!

Review: Her Stand-In Boyfriend by Kelly Jamieson

This boyfriend business is about to get a whole lot more personal…

Event planner Lexi Mannis has a busy life in Chicago—too busy to have a boyfriend. For special occasions, she has her Stand-In Boyfriend, Mac Northrop. Mac offers (almost) all the perks of a real boyfriend—furniture assembly, a date to big events, and someone to cook for. But they've never been “with benefits”…until one wickedly hot night crosses the line.

Mac's been in love with Lexi for ages. He knows he should probably end it, but dammit, he just can't. When things get deliciously down and dirty, Mac is certain that he's made the leap out of the friend zone…until Lexi decides she wants to remain friends. With benefits.

What Lexi doesn't know is that she's running out of time. And if she won't promote Mac to Real Boyfriend, she might just lose her Stand-In Boyfriend to someone else…

My Thoughts:

So, I was out somewhere waiting my turn and decided to start a new book. My intention was to read a different book than this (because the other book was releasing sooner), but when I accidentally tapped this one I decided to just go with it. And oh... my... god... let me tell you something--the universe knew how much I needed to read this one next.

Lexi and Mac have been the best of friends for years. Their relationship is pretty awesome--they're always there for each other, even as "dates" when needed for events and parties. After another one of their "date" nights, they go back to her place with food and sit around talking. It leads to a very intense sexually charged moment that fills the air between them. Let me just say... FIRST KISS, FIRST KISS, FIRST KISSSSSSSSS!!! And I was dying. I just don't know how to express how amazing it was. In fact, I've read it about fifteen times since finishing the book, that's how much I love it. Their one night together leads to another, but neither time do they discuss how the dynamic of their relationship changed. One thing's for sure--they need to figure it out, and fast, before a simple misunderstanding could wreck their friendship for good.

Her Stand-In Boyfriend is one of the most captivating sexy and sweet stories ever. I love love loved how Lexi and Mac were friends first and how that was the bedrock for the possibility for something more. It's so adorable how Mac feels about Lexi. Book boyfriend alert! Major swooning over here, I'm jealous of Lexi something serious. I am anxiously awaiting more books by Kelly Jamieson!

Love wasn’t in the script…

Break on Through, Book 2

Former man-eater Samantha Lockhart has been an actress long enough to be able to spot a smooth-talking player a mile away. Dark-haired, bourbon-eyed, a wicked smile…Kyle Masterson is one of the best.

From his bad-boy motorcycle boots to his good-ole-boy Southern drawl, everything about Kyle screams sex appeal. But after a tragedy hits close to home, Sam tries to convince herself she’s done with players on and off the stage.

Kyle, a V-twin-riding divorce attorney, has witnessed enough horror stories of love gone wrong to know that while women are welcome in his bed, they’re definitely not in his future. But once the petite, mercurial redhead catches his eye, he can’t think of anything—or anyone—else.

Sam’s trust doesn’t come easy, but the more time they spend together, the deeper they both fall. Yet just as they’re breaking through each other’s barriers, someone who doesn’t like being upstaged makes a deadly play of his own. And if Sam refuses, she may not be able to breathe a word to anyone…ever.

Warning: Contains a small-town thespian who isn’t easily fooled and a lawyer with a weakness for V-twin engines and sassy redheads.

My Thoughts:

I knew I wanted to read this one after enjoying Jackson and Lauren's story in Rule Breaker, the first book in the Break On Through series. What was even better is they make an appearance in this book, so it was great to see them again and to get to know Samantha and Kyle more in Heart Breaker.

Samantha used to play the field, but after the tragic loss of her parents, she reevaluated her life and decided it's not for her anymore. So when Kyle comes into her life, with a player reputation, she's not too willing to let him in right away. Once they get to know each other, it becomes clear they have a deeper connection than just attraction or a temporary affair. Their relationship heats up quickly, and is extremely hot. There are some outside issues with Sam's director that threaten to get in the way of Sam and Kyle's happiness. Can they get past them for their romance to bloom?

Heart Breaker is a sexy story full of heart. Sam and Kyle's relationship happens quickly, but it's believable and sweet. Harper Kincaid has a way with her characters--it's hard to explain, but I completely love every single one she writes. They're always unique, real, and have just the right amount of quirky. I love it. And I can't wait to see what's next!
