Review: The Dark Divine by Bree Despain

A Prodigal Son

A Dangerous Love

A Deadly Secret

Grace Divine—daughter of the local pastor—always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared and her brother Jude came home covered in his own blood.

Now that Daniel's returned, Grace must choose between her growing attraction to him and her loyalty to her brother.

As Grace gets closer to Daniel, she learns the truth about that mysterious night and how to save the ones she loves, but it might cost her the one thing she cherishes most: her soul.
~from Goodreads

Grace Divine gets quite the surprise when Daniel Kalbi returns. Nobody had seen him since that night her brother returned home covered in blood. No one in her family spoke about Daniel since. Grace tries to be good, to stay away from him since he’s dangerous. She finds that she can’t. She recalls all the memories of their childhood spent together, she keeps running into him, and she tries to help him. All the while strange things are happening, and people are speculating on whether Daniel is involved.

It wasn’t too bad of a story, but personally, I couldn’t really stay into it. One of the childhood scenes was really cute. But in general it didn’t really draw me in, or keep me interested.
