USA Today bestselling author Sawyer Bennett scores big-time with the first novel in a sexy new series hot enough to melt the ice.

Hockey star Alexander Crossman has a reputation as a cold-hearted player on and off the rink. Pushed into the sport by an alcoholic father, Alex isn’t afraid to give fans the proverbial middle finger, relishing his role as the MVP they love to hate. Management, however, isn’t so amused. Now Alex has a choice: fix his public image through community service or ride the bench. But Alex refuses to be molded into the Carolina Cold Fury poster boy . . . not even by a tempting redhead with killer curves.

As a social worker, Sutton Price is accustomed to difficult people—like Alex, who’s been assigned to help her create a drug-abuse awareness program for at-risk youth as part of the team’s effort to clean up his image. What she doesn’t expect is the arrogant smirk from his perfect lips to stir her most heated fantasies. But Sutton isn’t one to cross professional boundaries—and besides, Alex doesn’t do relationships . . . or does he? The more she sees behind Alex’s bad-boy fa├žade, the more Sutton craves the man she uncovers.

My Thoughts:

After completely falling for Gavin and Savannah in Sugar on the Edge, I've been keeping my eye on Sawyer Bennett. Great writing, great characters, great story. When I read the synopsis to this one, all I could think was how much I wanted my hands on it. I was literally twitching to read this one. Was it worth the read? You bet.

Alex and Sutton were a great pairing, in more ways than one. They bring out the best in each other, and they have a lot more in common than you could imagine. Their romance held together well throughout--it wasn't perfect, but it was realistic. And super passionate. I loved how their whole story played out... and that end? Cue the chorus of awwwws because, yeah. You will totally get the huge grin on your face and say it.

Alex is a sweet and sexy novel. I had to find out more and more, keep turning that page. Sawyer Bennett's stories always have this wonderful feel to them--real and emotional and full of promises of love. So, you better believe I'm all over wanting to get my hands on the next Cold Fury Hockey novel featuring Garrett. *stands aside to fan self* Can't. Freaking. Wait.

My Rating:

  1. I read my first by her earlier this summer and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to checking this one out :)

    1. YES. This is my second, but I could keep reading every one of her books. :)
