Love is a circus
"Every day,” he says lowly, “I hold a person’s life in my hands. The circus is based one-hundred percent off trust. I give it all to someone, and they give it all to me.”
The best aerial technique won’t land 21-year-old Thora James her dream role in Amour—a sexy new acrobatic show on the Vegas strip. Thora knows she’s out of her element the second she meets Amour’s leading performer. Confident, charming and devilishly captivating, 26-year-old Nikolai Kotova lives up to his nickname as the “God of Russia.”
When Thora unknowingly walks into the crosshairs of Nikolai’s after-show, her audition process begins way too soon. Unprofessional. That’s what Nik calls their “non-existent” relationship. It’s not like Thora can avoid him. For one, they may be partners in the future--acrobatic partners, that is. But getting closer to Nik means diving deeper into sin city and into his dizzying world.
Thora wants to perform with him, but when someone like Nikolai attracts the spotlight wherever he goes—Thora fears that she’s destined to be just background to his spellbinding show.
This sexy and exhilarating New Adult Romance can best be described as Cirque du Soleil meets the steamy, athletic romance of Center Stage.

My Thoughts:
I'm not even sure I'm going to be able to express in words how I feel about this book. But I'm gonna try. I've enjoyed reading the books from the Addicted series by Krista & Becca Ritchie, so the idea of reading a new book with brand new characters was exciting. The idea of it was so unique, and I couldn't wait to see what would be in store for Thora when she meets Nikolai.
When I first start it, there's this amazing feel of taking a leap, which for me is something I root HIGHLY for. Thora is taking a huge risk going to Las Vegas to try out for Amour, but it's something she has to do, so she goes. What I loved about this risk is that there were so many other things Thora had to face along the way, and not everything went as planned. Sure, some books are all about handing us rose-colored glasses and they want us to think everything will be perfect. This book showcases the balance of the good and the bad in life.
With Thora and Nikolai, it's one of those things you can see and feel, but you don't know how or when or where. There's so much at play for the two of them. The circus is their life, they can't be distracted. But they're distracted...by each other. And the level of steam is increased with the act and the practice. And Nikolai... SIGH... I don't even know how to explain how insanely wonderful he is. So sweet and charming and sexy and everything.
Amour Amour didn't just meet expectations, it went BEYOND that. It was so amazing, I want to read this book once a year every year. I've already picked it up again to read my favorite scenes. There's more to it than just the circus and potential love--there's also family and friendship and risk-taking and challenges and reality. It's a well-rounded story that has everything you want and need. Loved it, and I believe everyone needs to read it.
My Rating:
I love the name Nikolai. Sigh!
