Alright! Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and is a way for book bloggers to get to know each other better. Just go to her page and follow the directions, and you'll be making some new friends!

Q. Let's step away from besties...What is the worst book that you've ever read and actually finished?

Worst book, eh? What If... All the Boys Wanted You by Liz Ruckdeschel, Sara James I don't know what it was, but navigating that book was pure torture. I don't like those books that bounce around like that, where you choose what happens next. That and books written in Instant Messages and Emails. I find them annoying.

  5. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Jennifer @ Crazy for Books.

This week’s question isn’t a question at all! I thought I would do things a little differently this week and give all of you a chance to promote a giveaway (or two!) from the blogosphere.
The catch?
IT CAN’T BE YOUR OWN GIVEAWAY!
Gotcha!
You have to find another blogger who is having a giveaway and promote their giveaway for them! If possible, promote a giveaway from a blogger doing the Hop (hey, you are visiting other blogs anyway, right?). Have fun with this one! It’s not an easy task this week! :)

Oh goodness! Here's two... Christy @ The Reader Bee is giving away a SIGNED copy of The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter. You can enter to win The Goddess Test here! (US only on that one, ends July 14th) AND... At Reading Angel you can enter to win a book for adults or young adults. Fill out the form (there are two forms and you can do both!), pick out a book. There are too many books to list here, so go check out the Help Me Pick Giveaway over there! (this one is international)

Alright! Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and is a way for book bloggers to get to know each other better. Just go to her page and follow the directions, and you'll be making some new friends!

Q. ACK! Your favorite book/movie character (example Hermione Granger played by the Emma chick) just walked into the room! Who is it and what would be your first reaction? You get extra points if you include visual stimulation.

Oh my... latest obsession: Chuck Bass/Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl! My first reaction...? "HOLY CRAP IT'S CHUCK BASS! I mean, ED WESTWICK!" That, or I'd probably just pass out... or forget how to breathe, then pass out. Or tackle him in some huge hug.

What keeps you reading beyond the first few pages of a book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?

Hmm. Good writing, interesting dialogue, funny/dynamic characters. It's usually the writer's voice that makes or breaks the beginning. And by the same token, poor writing, lame dialogue, crappy/stupid characters. And if I can't get into the writer's style of writing.

Follow Friday #9 & Book Blogger Hop #6

Alright! Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and is a way for book bloggers to get to know each other better. Just go to her page and follow the directions, and you'll be making some new friends!

Q. In light of the Summer Solstice. Also known as Midsummer...let's talk about fairies. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fae?

A: I haven't read too many Fairy Tale/Fairy stories. I really liked Wings by Aprilynne Pike. It was unlike what I even expected, and I'm not really sure what I expected. I can't wait to read the rest of the series... I have Spells on my shelf right now and I want to read it so bad!

Book Blogger Hop

Our question this week:

“When did you realize reading was your passion and a truly important part of your life?”

Let's see... I've always loved reading. I would read books constantly when I was in 3rd grade through 6th. My favorites were The Baby Sitter's Club series, Sweet Valley Twins series, Phyllis Reynolds Naylor's The Grand Escape, Anne Of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery, and 101 Dalmatians by Dodie Smith (if you never read the book that inspired the movie, you MUST! It is amazing). I lost touch with my love of reading while in junior high/high school and allowed myself to be distracted by other things (like graduating, lol, I was homeschooled and pressed for time because I had a medical situation that held me back by a few months). Then I got back into it again later on (after graduating). I always knew reading was important to me, I just needed to realize that I needed to make more time for it. Now I can't stop reading. I love getting taken to new places in books.

I felt like posting this tonight since I'm still up and hyper off of downing a Mountain Dew can in less than 15 minutes... I need to get to bed for work in the morning though... so goodnight my fellow book lovers!

Follow Friday #8 & Book Blogger Hop #5

Alright! Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and is a way for book bloggers to get to know each other better. Just go to her page and follow the directions, and you'll be making some new friends!

Q. Genre Wars! What's your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?

Hmm... I'm torn between the dystopian and paranormal romance genres. I've only read 2 dystopians, but lots of paranormal romances. I do have the tendency to read a lot of coming-of-age type novels (which mostly end on a not so happy ending, but usually a hopeful one). I wish I could pick one. I'm not really a one genre reader. Since the majority of the books I own are coming-of-age, I'm going to go with that. As far as the book that started it, I'm not even sure which one was the first. One of the earliest ones I remember reading was Fault Line by Janet Tashjian, which is about teen relationship abuse.

Our question: “How many books are currently in your To-Be-Read (TBR) Pile?”

According to Goodreads (which might not be completely accurate, since I've found a few that I forgot to add here and there), my TBR list is up to 365. It's increased dramatically since this blog started. I wouldn't doubt if I break 400 by the end of fall or end of the year.

That's all for today. I ended up missing out on doing this in the morning because, guess what, the computer froze up on me... again. But at least I was able to log on tonight! Happy Friday everyone!

Alright! Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and is a way for book bloggers to get to know each other better. Just go to her page and follow the directions, and you'll be making some new friends!

Q. The magic book fairy pops out of your cereal box and says "you and your favorite character (from a book of course) can switch places!" Who are you going to switch with?

A. Oooh! That's a tough one... I'm a sucker for romance, so I'd switch places with Raven Madison in the Vampire Kisses series by Ellen Schreiber. She's fun and funny, she has awesome clothes, and she has a very romantic and caring boyfriend. Who could ask for anything more?

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Jennifer @ Crazy for Books. I missed this one before work today, so I'm editing to add this... :)

This week's question: Who is the ONE author that you are DYING to meet?

Hmm... There are so many great authors out there. Ellen Hopkins, Jennifer Echols, Lauren Oliver, Ellen Schreiber, Elizabeth Scott, Kathy Reichs, Megan McCafferty... But if I HAD to narrow it down to just ONE... I would pick Ellen Hopkins because I admire her ability to take the most serious of situations and compose a beautiful tugs at your heartstrings novel. And I love that she writes in verse.

Happy Friday everybody! ^_^

Q. What are you doing to prepare for an upcoming zombie apocalypse and/or the return of Mel Gibson to the silver screen? (Both of which could be terrifying.)

A. I'm kind of at a loss here, because I'm out of the loop on the news since I, well, never watch it. But, in any case, I think double bolting the doors and boarding up windows seem to be in order, on both accounts. And carrying bricks in purses and pepper spray in pockets... Lol.

This week's question (not really a question):
“Share your favorite post from the last month and tell us why it’s close to your heart!”

Hmm... This one's tough. I think I'm going to say my I'm Feeling Dorktastic Today post. It's all about childhood, and hanging on to it as long as you can. No matter how lame it seems to others. Sometimes reading childhood books, it just makes you feel great inside.

I'll probably be doing my IMM on Sunday with everyone else this week, since I'm not prepared today. ^_^ I'll have more to report by then ANYWAYS.

Alright! Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and is a way for book bloggers to get to know each other better. Just go to her page and follow the directions, and you'll be making some new friends!

Q. How many books do you read in a week? And in what format do you read them, or listen to them?

Apparently I only read about 1-3 books per week, depending on my time. 99% of the time I read a hard copy of a book, although I do have a few e-books on my laptop. I am probably going to buy a Nook soon though, because there are a lot of e-books I'd like to check out that are only available in that format.

This week's question:

"What book-to-movie adaption have you most liked? Which have you disliked?"

Wow... I don't know how many I've even seen. I've seen all 3 of the Anne Of Green Gables movies--the first was the only one that did the books justice, the other two, oh please don't get me started. As far as current movies go, the only ones I've seen and read books of are the Twilight series. The first one was hardly like the book (except in a handful of ways), and the 2nd and 3rd were much MUCH closer to the book. I think this means I need to read more books that get adapted to movies. ^_^

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.

I got one package in the mail (even though I have a couple more coming, they're just delaying and will be revealed next week).

What did I get?

Dylan by Lisi Harrison
Endless Summer by Jennifer Echols
Polo's Mother by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor (book 4 from The Cat Pack series)
Anne Of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery (finishing my collection of the Anne Of Green Gables series of books!)

Happy FF and BBH everyone! I'm off to work.

Book Blogger Hop #1, Follow Friday #4, & In My Mailbox #3

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Jennifer @ Crazy for Books.

This week's question:

"If you were given the chance to spend one day in a fictional world (from a book), which book would it be from and what would that place be?"

My answer: Anne Of Green Gables on Prince Edward Island ANYWHERE. I grew up loving the book, loving the scenes from the movie, it was all just amazingly beautiful. All the time in the world to do anything.

Alright! Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and is a way for book bloggers to get to know each other better. Just go to her page and follow the directions, and you'll be making some new friends!

Q. It's circle time. Time for us to open up and share. Can you tell us FIVE quirky habits or things about you? We all have them...

1. I love watching TV on DVD. I own literally over 50 different seasons. My favorites include Bones (side note: what a finale last night, right?!), How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Veronica Mars, The Simpsons, Scrubs, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. I've been known to have marathons where I watch whole seasons within a few days.

2. I collect My Little Ponies, Kitty In My Pockets, plushies, and various other toys. I feel it keeps me connected with my childhood, and keeps my inner child going.

3. Aside from cats, my favorite animal is a lemur and I want nothing more than to have one as a pet as soon as it's possible. They are absolutely adorable.

4. I have had an obsession with Billy Joel since I was 16. I have memorized practically every song, including "We Didn't Start The Fire". Recently I've been popping random albums into my car's CD player to listen to on my way to work. (Most recent: Glass Houses, specifically because "Sleeping With The Television On" was stuck in my head)

5. I love slapstick and silly comedy. Anything from Saturday Night Live, Mel Brooks, The Red Green Show, Homestarrunner.com, YouTube Poops of Mario and Zelda games... I could watch them and laugh all day long.

I received a package from Barnes & Noble and one from Amazon. Got some bargain books AND some newer books that I've been wanting for awhile. I also got a couple books for future giveaways, but I won't be sharing those in this feature today, since they're not for me. I will reveal those soon enough, just you wait!

So... what did I get?

Sealed With A Diss by Lisi Harrison
Dial L For Loser by Lisi Harrison
Before I Die by Jenny Downham
Matched by Ally Condie
Divergent by Veronica Roth
Bumped by Megan McCafferty

As you can see, I got anxious to get into the other dytopian worlds. Can you blame me? I'm almost done with my library books, so I should be able to get these going very soon!
