Rhett Morgan couldn't have been more wrong for me. The guy drank beer in the shower, for crying out loud. He had no prospects for the future, had slept with half the women in our beach town of Kill Devil Hills, and had no desire to change his manwhore ways.

And when Ben Turner, the guy I had loved from afar for the past four years, died and I couldn't get over his death, I desperately needed a distraction. A distraction like Rhett. So I used him for a one-night stand. Because, after all, that's the only thing a guy like Rhett is good for...right?

My Thoughts:

Another great novel from Sarah Darlington! Pulled Under continues the Kill Devil Hills series by following Sydney and Rhett. It parallels to the other books, going along with what Sydney faced when it came to Ben's death this time. She's having a rough time of it, but she decides to use Rhett as a distraction. They had met before when she was sixteen and they kissed. Rhett passed her a note back then to find him again when she's older, so she does. Which is what starts their secret rendezvous. As time goes by, it becomes more and more clear that this may be more than just a distraction. But are they both ready for what lies ahead?

Pulled Under is a fantastic story! I loved all the emotions carried throughout the book--honestly throughout the series. There's so much going on outside of the main characters, and it all ties together. Rhett and Sydney are a perfectly imperfect match and I love how Sarah Darlington brought them together and turned their secret into something more real. Great continuation of the series!

My Thoughts:

Upon reading this synopsis, I knew I'd be hooked from the start of the story. And as it turns out, I was hooked--and it was impossible to put down. With Sarah Darlington, you know she's going to deliver.

Ellie is one of those awesome girls that you want in your corner for life--strong and speaks her mind. When she meets Nate West on an airplane, her life begins to change. She was already attracted to him before, but she didn't think anything of it. Then an opportunity to kiss him comes along and opens up a whole new world of possibility. She continues to run into him, and stay in touch with him, to the point where neither one of them can deny that something is happening. She isn't sure what, since it's all so new to her, but she needs to find out.

Changing Tides is a brilliant continuation to the Kill Devil Hills series. Ellie and Nate have this instant chemistry and it isn't just a fluke, or on the surface. I loved watching it develop. I also enjoyed seeing characters from the first book, and the little twist on something we learned about in that book. Keep them coming, Sarah!

My Thoughts:

After thoroughly enjoying He Belongs With Me, I was super stoked to read the story from Leo's point-of-view. He's one of those guys where appearances are very deceiving, and you want to just cuddle with him. So, yeah, definitely loved hearing his side to the story!

The story is told parallel to He Belongs With Me, so everything is relatively familiar, we just get to see some of the things only Leo saw, and thought. I loved seeing his feelings for Clara bloom further as she starts to discover the new side to Leo. His adoration for her is beyond what you could even imagine, and watching it all unfold was so sweet.

Leo Maddox was a great retelling of the original story. He's hard not to love, and so it the story! If you want to know which one you should read first, I'd like to say He Belongs With Me so you can get everything from Clara and Maggies POV, but I think I liked hearing Leo's a little more. Either way, Sarah Darlington has penned another great story!

My Thoughts:

I'm so lucky to get to read this one early. Sarah's storytelling ability is awesome, and her stories are full of love and life. It's impossible not to adore this one.

I'm not going to go into spoilers on the main storyline (you find out right away what it is), but it's pretty near impossible not to have your heart threaten to shatter when Noah saves Georgie. Months later, something starts to develop between Noah and Georgie, and it's undeniable. I don't want to give anything away but I love love loved the sleepovers! You know, of the innocent kind. But still very romantic because it held a greater meaning. Then they share that heart pounding first kiss and you know they're done for, because so are you. The two of them have a connection, a bond that ties them together. And by the time you reach the end of the story, you're in love.

Kill Devil Hills will have you swooning, sighing, and reaching for tissues. It's a love story, but it's the kind that delves deeper into life and living and being happy. Sarah Darlington has a way with her words. You can't stop reading because everything about Noah and Georgie's story feels so real. Can't wait for the next story!
