WoW: Hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine
Title: The Unquiet
Author: Jeannine Garsee
Read the Goodreads Synopsis
I don't know what it is about books that feature characters dealing with depression and bi-polar disorder, but I just need to read them. There's just something about it that makes me want to understand, and part of me that can relate even though I don't deal with it personally. Plus it takes place in a rural Ohio town, so I can relate to that.

Title: Triangles
Author: Ellen Hopkins
Read the Goodreads Synopsis
Ellen Hopkins has made her mark as the wildly popular author of several novels for young adults—every one of them a New York Times bestseller, and every one a hard-hitting exploration of tough-to-tackle topics. Now, in Triangles, Hopkins brings her storytelling mastery and fearlessness to take on the challenges of adult dramas.
I love the fact that she's written a novel for adults. I think it's going to be amazing. Not to mention the cover looks awesome. I've been awaiting this one for a long time. I keep up with Ellen Hopkins on her Facebook page so I hear about all kinds of stuff way in advance. ^_^

Here's what I'm waiting on...
And Then Things Fall Apart by Arlaina Tibensky
Keek is not having a good summer. She and her boyfriend have just had their Worst Fight Ever (on the subject of her virginity, nonetheless), she’s been betrayed by a best friend, her parents are splitting up, and her mother is on the other side of the country tending to Keek’s newborn cousin, who may or may not make it home from the hospital. Oh, and Keek’s holed up at her grandmother’s technology-barren house with an abysmal case of the chicken pox. In Keek’s words, “Sofa king annoying.”
With her world collapsing around her, Keek’s only solace comes from rereading Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar and typing on an old electric typewriter. Keek—whose snappy narrative voice is darkly humorous and hysterically blunt—must ultimately decide for herself which relationships to salvage, which to set free, and what it means to fall in love. ~from Goodreads

Musing Monday #7, Teaser Tuesday #8, & Waiting On Wednesday #8
Musing Monday is hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading and here's our question for today:Do you like movies made from books? Which ones do you think have been done well — kept mostly to the plot of the book, etc?
Sometimes. Making a book into a movie is hard work. Some books you can cut out a bunch of unnecessary scenes and make a good movie. Other books, there are so many important scenes that need to be made to make the movie believable and enjoyable. One that I'm sure MANY people will say does not live up to the book is Twilight. I would like to say that New Moon and Eclipse were MUCH better. Anne Of Green Gables was done well too. The sequels however, no comment. Lol.
~*~
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser:"Behind them the morning fog shrouds the window, like the house is hovering inside a cloud. Standing in the doorway I'm filled with the same scared, hollow feeling I get when I see abandoned houses, ones with weeds growing through the front steps, paint cracked and dirty, windows broken and boarded up."

The Day Before by Lisa SchroederAmber’s life is spinning out of control. All she wants is to turn up the volume on her iPod until all of the demands of family and friends fade away. So she sneaks off to the beach to spend a day by herself.
Then Amber meets Cade. Their attraction is instant, and Amber can tell he’s also looking for an escape. Together they decide to share a perfect day: no pasts, no fears, no regrets.
The more time that Amber spends with Cade, the more she’s drawn to him. And the more she’s troubled by his darkness. Because Cade’s not just living in the now—he’s living each moment like it’s his last. ~from Goodreads

Here's what I'm waiting on...
Sometimes It Happens by Lauren BarnholdtOn the last day of her junior year, Hannah's boyfriend Sebastian dumped her. Facing a summer of loneliness, Hannah turns to her best friend Ava for comfort. Ava does what BFFs do: she stays by Hannah's side...until it's time for Ava to head up to Maine for the summer. Also left behind is Ava's boyfriend, Noah, who's such a great guy he gets Hannah a job at the diner he waits tables at. Slowly, Hannah comes out of her funk thanks to Noah's good conversation and their fun times at the diner. But things get complicated when their friendship turns into attraction--and one night, into a passionate kiss.
The novel opens on the first day of senior year; the day Hannah is going to see Ava, Sebastian, and Noah all in one place. Over the course of the day secrets and betrayals are revealed, and alliances are broken and reformed. In the end, everyone is paired up once again, but not the way you might think... ~from Goodreads
I've got so many books I'm waiting on and I didn't even realize it! I think it's gotten much, much worse since I started this blog. Okay, not worse... the only bad thing about it is trying to find the time to read them all! I love new books. What are you waiting on?

Crossed by Ally Condie(Matched #2)
In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.
Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever. ~from Goodreads
After finishing Matched, I knew I needed to read the next book. I should have my review for Matched by the end of next week.

Here's what I'm waiting on...
Love Storyby Jennifer Echols
For Erin Blackwell, majoring in creative writing at the New York City college of her dreams is more than a chance to fulfill her ambitions--it's her ticket away from the tragic memories that shadow her family's racehorse farm in Kentucky. But when she refuses to major in business and take over the farm herself someday, her grandmother gives Erin's college tuition and promised inheritance to their maddeningly handsome stable boy, Hunter Allen. Now Erin has to win an internship and work late nights at a coffee shop to make her own dreams a reality. She should despise Hunter . . . so why does he sneak into her thoughts as the hero of her latest writing assignment?
Then, on the day she's sharing that assignment with her class, Hunter walks in. He's joining her class. And after he reads about himself in her story, her private fantasies about him must be painfully clear. She only hopes to persuade him not to reveal her secret to everyone else. But Hunter devises his own creative revenge, writing sexy stories that drive the whole class wild with curiosity and fill Erin's heart with longing. Now she's not just imagining what might have been. She's writing a whole new ending for her romance with Hunter . . . except this story could come true. ~from Goodreads

Swear by Nina Malkin(sequel to Swoon)
"A promise broken. A bond betrayed. It’s been six months since ghost-turned golem Sinclair Youngblood Powers confessed his love, stole Dice’s heart, and disappeared from Swoon, perhaps from existence. Despite the hurt, Dice has been moving steadily toward ordinary. Dreams of Sin still plague and pleasure her sleep, and the mark of Sin’s love remains on her skin, still sore. But Dice has been throwing herself into music, finding solace in song and sometimes even in the arms of her band mate, Tosh. Life seems almost…normal. The last thing Dice wants is to mess with anything remotely supernatural. But when her best friend’s boyfriend goes missing, Dice has no choice but to become very much involved. She knows that his disappearance was no accident, and it somehow has everything to do with Sin. Because Dice can feel it: Sin is back. And the promises and deceptions he left in his wake have returned to haunt him.
What do you do when an oath of devotion threatens to destroy the one you love?"

Here's one I recently discovered:
As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott"What if you woke up and didn't know where you were?
What if you didn't know who you were?
And what if, when your memories started to come back--what if they didn't match the you that you're supposed to be?
Ava is welcomed home from the hospital by a doting mother, lively friends, and a crush finally beginning to show interest. There's only one problem: Ava can't remember any of them--and can't shake the eerie feeling that she's not who they say she is.
Ava struggles to break through her amnesiac haze as she goes through the motions of high-school life, but the memories that surface take place in a very different world, where Ava and familiar-faced friends are under constant scrutiny and no one can be trusted. Ava doesn't know what to make of these visions, or of the boy who is at the center of them all, until he reappears in her life and offers answers . . . but only in exchange for her trust." ~from Goodreads
Oh yeah. Kinda reminds me of Rosebush by Michelle Jaffe. I enjoyed every Elizabeth Scott book I've read thus far, so I believe it's going to be great.

One more book I'm waiting on:
The Hidden by Jessica Verday"In the long-awaited conclusion to the bestselling saga of Abbey and Caspian, readers finally learn the truth about Kristen's untimely death, the dark destiny that links Abbey to Caspian and ties them both to the town of Sleepy Hollow, and the hard choices that Abbey must make if she is to accept Caspian's love and their unexpected fate. Beautifully spun, emotionally gripping, and irresistibly romantic, The Hidden will leave readers breathless." ~from Goodreads

One book I am anxiously awaiting is:

Perfect by Ellen Hopkins
"Everyone wants to be perfect, but when perfection loses its meaning, how far will you go? What would you give up to be perfect?
A riveting and startling companion to the bestselling Impulse, Ellen Hopkins's Perfect exposes the harsh truths about what it takes to grow up and grow into our own skins, our own selves."
Huge Ellen Hopkins fan here. I'm actually behind on her books. The book Fallout has been out for awhile and I just haven't gotten it. I've been trying to be good and not buy too many books. I should see if I can find it at my library. :)
