Music Monday #5 - "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye

Music Monday is a new feature over at Ramblings of a Daydreamer where we can talk about music. It can be any sort of music thing on your mind--a song or an artist or music you're listening to while reading or writing or anything else music related. Have fun with it! Just link back to Marie so others can join in. ^_^

I've always got music on my mind, so I'll probably be sharing whatever song has been stuck in my head recently. There's always a song stuck in my head. Enjoy!

Song of the Moment:
"Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye

While I have this tendency to be so behind on current music, but I happened to learn about this song one day... from my mom. She was flipping around on different TV stations and came across a show that was featuring this song and she didn't know who it was. I decided to pull up Pandora and pick a current music station to see if it would come up. It ended up being the FIRST SONG TO PULL UP. Yep, I was rolling on the floor at how ridiculously hilarious it was. Then I kept hearing this song... and when I started my new job last week, the radio station played it at least once during my shift. There's just something insanely perfect about this song. The emotion overload. It's just a really great song. So... I'm probably going to buy the CD now.

ENJOY!

Lyrics (chorus):

But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough
No you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records and then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know

So what kind of music is on your mind this week? ^_^

  1. This song is played SO MUCH on the radio...you know I don't even listen to the radio much, but it seems like every time it's on, either in the kitchen or when I'm out in a store, this song is on, and then I always get it stuck in my head lol

    1. Lol, I'm sure it is, but I wouldn't know because I hardly ever listen to the radio. I'm actually hearing more modern songs at the new job--we had oldies on at the old job. It's been in my head ALL DAY. :P LOL!

  2. This song, next to "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay, is my favorite song in the world! But, I have to say that I love the Glee version of it because Matt Bomer sings it. *sigh*

    1. Oooh! That's where my mom first heard the song was on Glee! Lol. I think this one has made it into my top, I don't know, twenty or so. I've lost track of all my favorites. ;)

  3. Right now, it's "She Wolf" by David Guetta feat. Sia.

  4. When I first heard this song I thought it was so creepy! And then they played it over and over again and now I like it. Just goes to show repetition works!

    1. Lol, sometimes it does work! I've had that happen for a couple songs I used to dislike. :P
