Maid-of-Honor Dani Brown can handle anything that comes her way when it comes to her best friend’s wedding. That is, until the bride asks for a huge favor—Dani needs to distract the best man, who happens to be Dani's ex. The ex she has fantasized dismembering for a year now. The ex she’ll have to suck it up and play nice with if this wedding is to go off without a hitch.

Businessman Jamie Kingsland is back in Seattle for a wedding. There’s just one problem – the maid of honor wants him dead. Except she doesn’t. Even though he knows he broke her heart last year when things got too serious and he panicked and left, she’s being way too nice about it now. And it scares him.

Something is up with his favorite bridesmaid, and he’s determined to find out what…

My Thoughts:

Dani is blindsided by the presence of her ex, Jamie, when he shows up for her best friend Roxy's wedding. Roxy has this crazy notion that Jamie's anti-marriage commentary is going to get to her soon-to-be husband Kyle's head. So she asks Dani to keep him distracted, even though she knows how the relationship ended. Dani reluctantly does it "for the bride" but it's not easy at first. Eventually she and Jamie have time to talk through some things to where they feel like things have reached a good point between them. Which, in turn, brings about the sparks from before, causing them to dive into a temporary friends-with-benefits relationship. Only temporary just isn't going to be enough--not by a long shot.

Bridesmaid Blues is an entertaining and super cute read. Exes with unresolved issues and underlying feelings getting put into a situation where they have to be around each other is always amusing. Dani and Jamie clearly have chemistry and you want nothing more than for the two of them to realize this instead of playing around (even though that's kinda fun, too). I found myself both swooning and giggling over everything, and completely amused at the situation in general. This second chance romance by Boone Brux is worth the read!
