She’s pregnant…by the boss!

Billionaire game designer Brady Finn’s latest business plan doesn’t include a feisty Irish lass who challenges him at every turn. But Aine Donovan, the stunning manager of the hotel he just purchased, is as determined to prevent Brady from ruining tradition as Brady is to have her in his bed.

When a no-strings fling leads to an unexpected pregnancy, Aine runs from her sexy, stubborn boss. What Brady doesn’t know won’t hurt him, right? But Brady won’t give up on claiming her — and their child — so easily…

My Thoughts:

This story was not what I expected--and that's in a good way. It was a slow start, a lot of talk and back and forth between Brady and Aine. It took a little while before you could sense the underlying sexual tension. It culminated in a kiss, one they decided wouldn't be a smart idea to repeat. But based on the title, of course, you know it leads to a night together. Since the night was unplanned, the two of them didn't give much thought to the necessity of preventing the chance of pregnancy. Brady, being the upstanding man he is, tells Aine to let him know if she gets pregnant. Five months later, he shows up in Ireland to follow up on the business deal to find out that she's carrying his child. He's upset, obviously, but she doesn't want his charity--she wants his love. Can Brady give her what she needs?

Having Her Boss's Baby is a sweet story, even though it's a bit predictable. I loved Aine--she's such a smart woman, with lots of sass and spark. While Brady at times doesn't seem like he cares, you know there's a reason why and that he can be a better person. The chemistry between Aine and Brady is fantastic. I enjoyed watching it develop, watching them figure each other out and fall for each other. All in all, another very lovely story from Maureen Child.

  1. I like when books surprise you in a good way. Plus the slow build to a hot romance is always good.
