My Thoughts:
I was super excited to get my hands on this one. I wanted to see what it was about Johnny that made Lola stay with him, and what it was about Beau that made him so compelling.
Johnny's desire to own the bar and Lola's willingness to do anything are what play a huge role in this story, along with showing how deep their feelings truly go for each other. The majority of the story takes place over the one night Lola spends with Beau. There's a lot of stubbornness with both of them regarding how they should feel about each other. By the end of the night, neither of them are sure what to think, or what's next.
Night Fever was an intriguing start to the series. While it kept my interest, it didn't quite grip me. There were more moments where I was wondering why I should like either Johnny or Beau, but I did find some reasons for Beau. Jessica Hawkins has gotten the series off to a good start. I'll probably pick up the next book at some point to see what happens next.
