The Latest With Me

Alrighty! Aside from the release of If Only We and the blog tour, here's what else is happening. I started my new job this week--and that has been wonderful. There's still LOTS for me to learn about the computer BUT I am very optimistic about it. I FINALLY got caught up on all my TV shows online. I ended up being four episodes behind on Castle somehow, which is UNACCEPTABLE, but I took care of that, so, we're all good now.

Also, during all the blog tour stuff, I started to think about reworking this blog. Not a lot, mind you, just changing the way I do things. Starting with my weekly update. I think I'm either going to pick one of the memes out there and do that instead of my personal update OR I'll just do a monthly recap. I haven't decided yet. I just feel like the weekly updates are monotonous and I'd like to keep the blog interesting. I'll probably be doing the same with my writing blog, but for now, since NaNo is going on and I'm unofficially participating by writing a novella (entitled Not Until Tonight, I'll share more on that middle of the month on my writing blog), I'll keep the writing update going. I want to dedicate more of my time to writing so I can get more stories written faster.

To those of you who won IOW postcards/prize packs, you'll be getting them in the next couple weeks or so. Not sure about international followers as far as the days it takes for postcards to arrive, but it's a rough estimate. Just to let you guys know!

The Latest With Me

So... DUDE OH MY GOODNESS. Two more days until the official release of If Only We! AND the start of the blog tour! So flipping excited, I'm freaking out. Check out the wonderful blogs hosting me this coming week by clicking here. Be sure to come back here so that you can stop by all the blogs all next week. I had a lot of fun coming up with posts and answering questions for everyone. ^_^ I've uploaded to Amazon and Barnes & Noble already even though official release date is October 27th (wanted to be sure that it uploaded without any glitches). So, it's almost here! Can't wait!

Just a quick note: Since all of next week will be consumed with the tour, I won't be posting an update next Friday. I'll do an update two weeks from today with everything that has gone on between now and then.

Also, I will be semi-participating in NaNoWriMo this year! I have way too much going on IRL to be able to fully participate, but I want to buckle down and start writing again. So I'm making it a goal to write a novella I have in the works called Our Chances Are. I've been plotting in between blog tour planning and I'm actually hoping to have a synopsis of that sometime in the next couple weeks. So, YAY! I get to cheer on my friends and write at the same time. It's going to be a fun month next month!

The Latest With Me

So. OMG. If Only We has been formatted and is up on Smashwords. Hopefully it will be available on retailers for preorder by the end of the weekend. Once it is, I will be sure to link you guys to it. I'm currently spending almost all of my free time getting the blog tour together for release week (October 27th through November 2nd). Something else new and exciting is happening in my life... I GOT A NEW JOB. It's actually going to be pretty awesome. I've spent 9 years working in retail as a pharmacy tech and I found a job that is all data entry and no retail. I will be starting the job a week after If Only We comes out. Talk about insanity. I always seem to have huge things happen in my life all at once. At least this time it's two amazing things. ^_^

Yeah, I was kind of a slacker this week with regard to my blog. I was planning on writing out a couple reviews to schedule for this week and next, but I was too wrapped up in finishing If Only We so I could send to my editor to care. Now that it HAS been sent, I've been spending more time reading to get caught up on my Goodreads challenge. I'll probably write reviews this weekend and get caught up on blog postings for the rest of the month. I'm in the final stages of publishing If Only We and need to start sending out the ARCs and emails ASAP.

So... Excited... And... Anxious...

The Latest With Me

Well, well, well... getting close to done with beta notes on If Only We. Should have it set by the weekend and off to my editor early next week. Then ARCs! Woo!! Oh my... time is just FLYING now and it's so hard to get everything done on deadline. I just keep crossing my fingers that everything goes smoothly. Next week is going to be a busy time for me, lots of finalizing and emailing. I hope I'm up to the challenge! So, well, wish me luck there. ;)

This Saturday I get to hang out with my childhood BFF, Steph, and her 2 year old son. The kid is adorable--when he sees me, he says, "Jessie!" I'm going to make macaroni and cheese with cut up pieces of hot dog for lunch. YUM.

Well, back to edits. I promised myself a cupcake once I finish this next chapter. MUST FINISH CHAPTER BECAUSE I WANT THE CUPCAKE.

The Latest With Me

Another long week. I was able to read through notes from two of my betas and it is definitely going to help make my book better in many ways. I'll be going out to dinner with my friend Rebecca tonight, then spending the day in my old town for a little festival they have every year. It's mostly booths of crafts, garage sales, and a car show, but it's fun. Plus, I'll be able to show my mom and brother one of the episodes of Castle that they missed last season, which was one of the best they've done.

Next week is BANNED BOOKS WEEK. Woot! I know I have promised that I would record one of those Virtual Read Out videos... and I had every intention of making one this year. Unfortunately, due to some real life circumstances cutting into my free time, I was not able to record one. I wish I could have though! I've been looking forward to making one for awhile now. Maybe if things settle down in October, I'll record one and upload it anyway. Even if I can't make one of those, maybe I can make another video, since I keep saying I'm going to. Blast real life for getting in the way always! *sigh*

But, anyways, Banned Books Week is coming--starting Sunday. I'll be having a giveaway where you can win a banned book of choice. I'm going to read Charlotte's Web this weekend and post my review next Saturday. It has been YEARS since I read it and I can't wait to read it again. ^_^
