Book Blitz: Desire by P.T. Michelle

Welcome to the Desire by P.T. Michelle book blitz!

I really, really, really need to get caught up on this series. I'm so behind on several series, and this is one I truly would love to continue soon... maybe once I get caught up with the review books. ^_^

Desire by P.T. Michelle
(Brightest Kind of Darkness #4)
Publication date: April 1st 2014
Genres: Paranormal Romance, Young Adult

Now that Nara and Ethan are working together to uncover the Corvus’ secrets, they’re confident nothing can stop them.

But while they’ve learned to anticipate dark outside forces gunning for them, neither is prepared for the insidious evil that slithers its way into their lives, nor the new challenges that surface so close to home.

Despite all the chaos and turmoil around them, the one constant they can depend on is their devotion and loyalty to each other. But as their relationship moves into deeper territory, sometimes the toughest battles are the ones waged within.

While the hunt for answers unravels more layers in the Corvus world, they also uncover new truths about themselves and their intricate connection to the powerful raven spirit.

When boundaries are suddenly redrawn and control shifts, Ethan and Nara will be forced to make choices that could bring them closer together or rip them apart forever.

Review: Desire by Kailin Gow

Title: Desire
Author: Kailin Gow
Published: May 24th 2011
Source: Purchased
Genre: YA Dystopian
Buy: Amazon ~*~ Barnes & Noble
Add to your Goodreads shelf
Caution: May contain spoilers
A Dystopian world where everyone's future is planned out for them at age 18...whether it is what a person desires or not. Kama is about to turn 18 and she thinks her Life s Plan will turn out like her boyfriend's and friend's as they desired. But when she glimpse a young man who can communicate with her with his thoughts and knows her name...a young man with burning blue eyes and raven hair, who is dressed like no other in her world, she is left to question her Life's Plan and her destiny. Knowing the truth can destroy everyone...

My Thoughts:

I have seen so many Kailin Gow books out there. This is the one series that intrigued me the most though. And that cover… just so gorgeous. So I splurged last year and bought the paperback. I had to find out what it was about this author that everyone loved. I discovered that it wasn’t as great as I expected.

First of all, it is not very well written. Grammatical mistakes aside, the writing was too simplistic and sometimes messy. There was an odd progression to the story, what Kama did or chose to do. She sees some strange, hot guy, Torrid, and suddenly she’s falling in love with him. It was like, forget my Life’s Plan with Liam, the guy she was convinced was the one for her. Then she discovers that her destiny isn’t supposed to be what she expected it to be, the one she used to believe growing up OR the one she wants to believe now. What to do?

Desire left little to be desired. It was not a good world building, and the characters didn’t have much depth to them. Falling in love in a snap along with the whole not allowed to be in love but we know we want to be together. It’s overdone enough as it is, but in this one it happened WAY too fast. I don’t think I’m going to bother seeing what happens next.

In My Mailbox #8

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.

It's where we post about the latest books we've purchased, gotten from the library, or received for review... it doesn't necessarily have to be ones you got in the mail. Although a lot of mine DO come from my mailbox. :)

This week there was only ONE book that came in the mail, although I was expecting two. In any case, here is what I got:

I can't help myself... all these interesting dystopians out there and I'm going nuts wanting them all! I actually got the paperback and not the e-book. And looking through it is really cool, because it's not your normal paperback copy of a book from some big name publisher (because I'm pretty sure it's not, but don't quote me). It feels more... real. Like there's something more to it than it just being some book, you know? This is coming from someone who would love to see a book she writes in print (that would be amazing).

Anyways, what did you get in your mailbox this week?
