Scarlet Read-Along: Weekly Link Up--Week Four

Welcome to the Scarlet Read-Along!

Marie at Ramblings of a Daydreamer and I are proud to present this read-along event to you.

Today we are going to discuss what we thought during week four of reading Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen. Our fifth, and final, assignment in the read-along was to read the chapters fourteen through sixteen. Meaning, we've finished this amazing book. ^_^ Please link up your post in the comments below so I can read and discuss the book with you too!

Week Four: Chapters 14-16...

Now did this story end with a bang, or did it end with a bang?! Wait, that's a statement. It DID end with a bang. Wow. It was just totally insane. Scarlet's secret past was exposed and there seems to be only one thing to do to fix the situation... and it's not pretty. What is it? You have to read it to find out! Scarlet and Robin are an epic love story. Very epic in a way you'd never expect. The action sequence is so intense, it was perfect. I can't wait to see what else A.C. Gaughen has in store. If she can write a retelling of Robin Hood that is this good, she can do anything. :)

Scarlet Read-Along: Weekly Link Up--Week Three

Welcome to the Scarlet Read-Along!

Marie at Ramblings of a Daydreamer and I are proud to present this read-along event to you.

Today we are going to discuss what we thought during week three of reading Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen. Our fourth assignment in the read-along was to read the chapters ten through thirteen. Please link up your post in the comments below so I can read and discuss the book with you too!

Week Three: Chapters 10-13...

Still so much going on. When Scarlet got upset over somebody not approving of what she does to get the things she gives away, that has to hurt. It leads to finding out more about her past--the heartbreak and the emotions all stirred up. It was intense. I have to say that I agreed with Scarlet when she was saying that it felt like everything was going too well and she could feel something bad coming around the corner. Been there... it's a bad feeling to have. I'd say especially so with the dangers they are exposed to.

One thing I'm NOT going to comment on... those who are reading the book know what I'm talking about... so I am not going to mention it in specifics to not ruin it for those who haven't read it yet. So... I'll leave it at that... *punches fist into pillow*

And then... how that last chapter ended... Whoa... just WHOA... If I had more time to read, I probably would have out of sheer curiosity. I so cannot wait to see how this ends. It's just too awesome and crazy and scary all at once. I love it.

Scarlet Read-Along: Weekly Link Up--Week Two

Welcome to the Scarlet Read-Along!

Week Two: Chapters 6-9...

SO I'm a bit late at posting this since I didn't have a chance to read the last chapter until last night at 11:00 pm (sorry about the delay!)... here's my thoughts for the week!!!

I got a nice little peek into Scarlet's softer side, which I knew was there from the beginning, plus more of her selflessness. There are pieces of Scarlet's past that are coming together to create a picture. There was also more learned about Robin and his past before he came back (to which I have a quote of the week from for next week). And a sneaky turn of events... that make me want to punch people in the face. It always burns me when people think they're safe in an unsafe environment.

Oh man... and then there's Robin and Scarlet... and John and Scarlet... Stupid love triangle!!! Argh!!! I can see that John has feelings for Scarlet, but there's something more to what there is between Robin and Scarlet. Something deeper. And um..... *swoons and passes out*... Yeah, he's gotten to me, heart and soul. <3

Scarlet Read-Along: Weekly Link Up--Week One

Welcome to the Scarlet Read-Along!

Marie at Ramblings of a Daydreamer and I are proud to present this read-along event to you.

Today we are going to discuss what we thought during week one of reading Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen. Our second assignment in the read-along was to read the chapters two through five. Please link up your post in the comments below so I can read and discuss the book with you too!

Week One: Chapters 2-5...

Okay, I almost didn't make it this week. Thank goodness I did though, otherwise it would look like I was a bad co-host, and that I didn't know what I was talking about... anyways... here are my thoughts on this week's reading...

It's starting to pick up! A little bit of the mystery behind Scarlet is beginning to come to light. She is proving herself capable, but she's very independent, so she makes hasty decisions that could be to her detriment. Yet, you still can't help but love her and root for her and wish you were her. I loved seeing Scarlet and the boys in action. And our nemesis getting taken down a peg, although his retaliation left me a bit miffed. The hint of romance is still there teasing us, although not all of it is what I'm rooting for. Uh, can you say Team Robin? Because that's where I stand! <3 you Robin! Oh, and there was that one scene that nearly had me in as much of a fit of giggles as the boys. Poor Scarlet. For me, that would be the downside of pretending to be a boy instead of a girl. In any case, I am still enjoying this very much!
