~*As for me...*~

Well, I got a new job! I'm making fruit arrangements for a living now. It's actually a lot of fun to do, and the people I work with are super awesome and funny. Also? It's NOT pharmacy! So, score!

I've got a lot of projects going on--Etsy and eBay selling mostly. Which hasn't been going according to plan. I originally thought I had a decent amount of stuff to sell online. Turns out I underestimated... bigtime. There's a TON of junk around here that I set aside to sell, I just completely forgot about what there was! So I didn't get around to putting anything up for sale on eBay, which is unfortunate since December is a good month for selling online. So, I had to delay the sales until January.

Otherwise, not much else happening around here to report! One thing I do have to say? Totally looking forward to 2015! Almost here. <3

And that's about it! I hope everyone's been having a great year!

~*As for me...*~

So, something big happened this month. After several months of deliberation, I decided that the best thing for me would be to quit my job... so I finally did. My last day was Wednesday. I don't have another job yet, but I do have an interview on Tuesday for a part time gig, so... *shrugs* In the meantime, I'm going to be taking care of business around here. Organizing my place, donating stuff to the thrift store, and selling crap online. And, of course, spending a little bit of extra time WRITING.

Some people think I'm a bit crazy to make this kind of decision. "It seems ridiculously dangerous to just stop working, right?" And you think I don't know this? Yes, I need a job to pay the bills. Yes, I can't just stay unemployed for long. But, I need this. I need a break from adulthood. I spent TEN YEARS in pharmacy, having a love/hate relationship with the job, and always being placed in situations that frustrate me to no end. I had to get out before I lost the last shred of my sanity. So, it was either stay and lose all the joy left in my life, or leave and be happy again.

I chose happiness.

I know that I'll make it, no matter what happens or how it happens or when it happens. I'm an industrious and clever woman--and I can do anything I set my mind to. ANYTHING. It can all be summed up in this:

And that's that!

Other than that little thing going on, I haven't been up to much else. My apartment has been torn apart, but I'm actually starting to get somewhere. Oh, and I've been marathon watching Home Improvement on YouTube (did you know you can watch the WHOLE SERIES on YouTube???) and Veronica Mars. If you want to see some hilarious quotes from either show, you can follow me on Twitter--because I've been quoting them both non-stop. I just finished season 1 of Veronica Mars (probably about the 15th or 20th time I've watched it, or more), so I'll probably take a break from that so that I don't watch everything too fast (seeing as there are only 3 seasons altogether). I still need to catch up on so many other shows (Gilmore Girls and original CSI for example). It's good to have on while I'm working on stuff around here. ;)

And that's about it! I hope everyone's been having a great year!

Well, I opened a new Etsy shop for my photography! It's just simply called Jess Sankiewicz Photos (mostly because that was what fit for a username, lol). So, favorite my shop please! There isn't much on there yet, only four 8x10 photos, but there are a bunch of 5x7's that I'll be putting up next month.

Here's a taste of what I've got on there:

That is my absolutely lovely model and BFF 'Roxanne'. We're actually long overdue for another photo shoot, and with fall being here, I really hope we can manage to squeeze one in because FALL COVER SHOOT STUFF TYPE THINGS. The colors and the shading. We're supposed to hang on Monday so *fingers crossed* that the weather is decent!

On October 27th 2014, it was the one year anniversary/book birthday for my first published novel, If Only We! It's kind of exciting and exhilarating to think about. It really doesn't feel like it's been that long. I've got a Goodreads giveaway going for a paperback copy of If Only We, so be sure to enter if you're interested in winning one.

I mean, you know you want to. ;)

Otherwise, not much else happening over here!

And that's about it! I hope everyone's been having a great year!

Has anything even been happening? All I feel like I do is work and a bunch of other adulting. I didn't sign up for that! Lol.

I did manage to plot out a lot of my blog posts for the next couple months and I'm working on a new method of getting reviews done in a timely manner, so SCORE! there. It isn't really anything special, I just keep my review draft up at all times to remind myself to write the review in a couple days. It's been working! I just finished one, so I have to pull another couple up to work on over the coming days.

And that's about it! I hope everyone's been having a great year!

I DID go see If I Stay last Monday with The Rebecca and The Steph. It was AMAZING. I mean, it's been like literally 5 years since I read the book, but they did a great job with the movie. Did any of you see it yet? What do you think?

Well then... I can't really think of much to report here... just plugging away at reading and writing and photographing and spending time with friends. OH! I did my annual "Jessica High by the 4th of July" picture. For those of you unfamiliar with this... I had this theory that the corn isn't "knee-high" by the 4th of July, but that it's "Jessica High", in other words, as tall as me. And, it always is. So I started to document it on film. Here's this year's photo:

Haha! I'm such a dork. It took me forever to find a spot I could TAKE a bloody picture because every road I drove down there was too much traffic. I finally found a road that was a dead end and nobody was on it the whole time, THANK GOD. Parked my car, set up the mini tripod on my car hood (because this is a one woman show now, folks), and took the picture. I'm wearing my new "Adventure" shirt. Oh, and if you're wondering, I'm 5'2", so, yeah--the corn be very tall! I look like a mini me next to it. As if I don't already feel short... lol. Good times.

And that's about it! I hope everyone's been having a great year, and a great summer so far!

Yet another crazy month that just went by too fast... a lot of work and some hanging out with friends. And also, a lot of plotting for stories and real life. I've been doing a lot of organizing and sorting at my apartment. Well, I STARTED to do this. I had to pause the plan a couple times because of work and other things but I'm going to get back to it soon. I have my reasons for it, which I'll probably go into in another post soon. Let's just say it involves stuff on my bucket list. ;)

Today, The Rebecca and I did a photo shoot behind my apartment. Nothing fancy, just messing around with my camera. I have this idea for photographs for Etsy, and I'd like to have some people shots instead of just the nature photography I already have. I'll probably do a post on that sometime in the near future as well once I have more photos together and get them printed for Etsy sale, just to show you guys. :)

And that's about it! I hope everyone's been having a great year, and a great summer so far!

      ~*As for me...*~

It was a whirlwind month for me with work and writing and reading. I managed to go out and have some fun with friends. Thank goodness the weather is better so that I can DO STUFF again! I'm glad for June being almost here (in only a few hours). Summer means being able to do even MORE stuff. Not only that, but I'll be attempting to get a lot more writing in so that I can publish the second book in my novella series, This Night, called All This Time (already put it up on Goodreads, don't know the exact date for release yet, but I should know once I have more of the book written out).

OH! And I'm working on some new fun stuff for the blog for the summer. I'm hoping to have a few giveaways and participate in a couple of memes I've been wanting to do for the longest time. So keep an eye out because it's gonna be awesome. ^_^

      ~*Thank you!!!*~

I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all the wonderful people who have shared, read, and/or reviewed my book Not Until Tonight! It's been a great week and I have read the absolute sweetest things ever. I seriously couldn't stop grinning the one day and I almost started crying.

Well, not really much to report... except that I finished writing the first draft of Not Until Tonight. I set it aside for a little bit so that I can clear my mind and edit refreshed. I'm still aiming for a May 20th release and crossing my fingers I don't have to push it back. Might have to push it to the following Monday, but I'm gonna try really hard NOT to. So, that means I need to get my butt MOVING on it starting tomorrow. I've got this new story that keeps begging to be written every time I have a free second to write. It's haunting my day and really trying to frustrate me with its awesomeness. Gotta love those stories. ^_^

Speaking of Not Until Tonight..... the awesome Marie Landry and I are working on getting the cover figured out! WOOOOOOOOT! So, keep an eye out for sign ups soon... or you can just comment below with your email addy or shoot me an email (impulsivities[at]gmail[dot]com) and I'll put you on the list. I'm hoping to have the reveal within the next week or so since the book will be OUT at the end of the month.

      ~*As for me...*~

Well, March has been a major month of ups and downs in every sense. I had to spend most of the month packing and then moving to a new apartment. A lot of it seemed to go smoothly enough, but now I'm running into other issues that need to be resolved quickly. Ah, the joys of being an adult!

      So, anyways...

I've been at the new place for a week and I'm still trying to unpack sections little by little. It looks a lot better than the first couple days. Luckily for me, I have an extra closet to put random stuff in for now--like my online sale stuff and stuff I'm going to donate to a thrift store. So it is A LOT nicer because the clutter isn't as overwhelming.

Unfortunately, between packing and moving and unpacking and working way too much overtime (again), I haven't had ANY free time for writing. AT ALL. And that's just disappointing. Very disappointing. I'll probably have to push the release date for Not Until Tonight back yet again. Once I finish writing the whole thing, I'll decide on a new date. For now, I'm changing it to May (tentatively on the 9th, but I may have to push that back) because I want to give it enough time. I hate delaying it though.

BUT!!! When I get settled in here (which should be within the next week *fingers crossed*) I'll be able to get back to Not Until Tonight and that makes me happy because I want to share this story. And when I'm finished with this one, I can start writing another one and that makes me happier because I have SO MANY STORIES to tell.

      ~*Divergent...*~

Other than all the above, not much else has been happening due to no free time. I DID go see Divergent the weekend it came out and it was pretty good. As I was watching it the first time, I was thinking about all the different things that take place throughout in the book and matching up and awaiting the next. There were several aspects missing, which was a little bit frustrating... BUT... they only have so much time in the movie. I was mostly concerned because there are things tied to the second book that needed to be explored in the first movie to make sense. I can't complain though because they did do a good job, and I really enjoyed the acting all around (especially Theo James *swoon*). I'll probably go see it at least one more time in the theater.

People are saying stuff about them splitting Allegiant into two parts. In my opinion, I don't see it happening. I mean, yeah, they probably WILL just to bring in more money, but nothing really HAPPENED in the third book to warrant dragging it out. And considering the fact that the first movie wasn't as big as they anticipated, not to mention the heated dislike of the third book, I'm doubting they'll extend it to four movies total. This is just me speaking though. *shrugs*

Hopefully everyone has had a great March and here's to a great April!!

Well! February has been slightly better than January. I say slightly because a few snags came up along the way, aside from more weather related frustration (welcome to Ohio). One of those snags is that I need to move... AGAIN. As you may remember, I moved out on my own last year around this time (March 23rd to be exact). My lease is almost up and I just got notice that my monthly rent is increasing... by much more than I can afford. So! I'm going to be moving out and into another apartment, one that will be much closer to work.

While this change might be tolerable, I'm more irritated by the heap of annoyances that come with the moving. #1: I have to pack everything up and MOVE again. #2: I have to change my address with every company, and let me tell you, that just takes up way too much time. #3: I lose a huge chunk of my free time because I'm trying to pack, transport all my stuff, and take care of all necessary business associated with moving.

And losing my free time means not much time to write. That one burns me up the most. I've been working REALLY hard trying to write Not Until Tonight so that I can publish it on time. I already moved the release date up from February to March... and now I'm having to move it from March to April.

      *sigh*

But I'm not going to let the negative win! I'm viewing it this way: It gives me plenty of time to finish, send to betas, set up the cover reveal/release day blitz/mini blog tour, send out ARCs... So, I'm remaining optimistic about the changes ahead!

Hopefully everyone has had a great February and here's to a great March!!

Stacking The Shelves #21: December Edition

      ~*As for me...*~

Well, not too much to report. I spend most of January INDOORS for two reasons: #1. The weather has been absolutely horrible in Ohio, and #2. I was sick for two weeks. Which, the weather did not assist in me getting better faster. The cold I can handle as long as I can be indoors most of the time and be well stocked on food and necessities. It's when I have to DRIVE on the icy roads that it is a problem. We had, I think, three days under a Level 3 Snow Emergency. Unfortunately, since I work in the medical field, I can't just say, "Sorry, not allowed to be on the road." I am expected to show up. Le sigh. But, what was nice is that two of my coworkers with better vehicles than mine were able to pick me up and take me home that week. I don't know what I would have done without them!

I've been making more of an effort to write since the new year started. I try to write at least a little bit every day, and I think I have been able to do that. Maybe not "sit down and write" kind of write, but I'm always thinking about my stories and coming up with new ideas to actually "sit down and write" out in their entirety later. So, I'd say it's been a good month when it comes to writing. ^_^

Hopefully everyone has had a great January and here's to a great February!!
